UNIFIL: We Were Not Aware of the Media Delegation in Yaroun

After a convoy of journalists was targeted by Israeli fire in the Yaroun area yesterday, Monday, the official spokesperson for "UNIFIL," Andrea Tenenti, confirmed that "UNIFIL was not aware of the presence of journalists in the area at that time, nor did it participate in organizing or coordinating their visit." He stated, "We recognize that the journalists narrowly escaped serious injuries yesterday while covering events near the Blue Line, and peacekeepers assisted in the recovery of their vehicles and equipment and coordinated this process." He emphasized that "journalists have important work to do, especially in times of conflict, and they must be respected and protected at all times."
