Social media users circulated the video of the execution of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, which took place on December 30, 2006, coinciding with Eid al-Adha at that time. In the execution video, Saddam can be heard saying to those around him after the noose was placed around his neck and as he refused to cover his face, "Is this manhood?" before reciting the Shahada and the execution being carried out.
Eid al-Adha is a celebration of worship, joy, and family ties, but it must also serve as a reminder to awaken consciences and strengthen resolve.
On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, the martyr, God willing, #Saddam_Hussein_the_Majeed, is remembered while Muslims around the world are offering sacrifices to Allah in celebration of Eid al-Adha.
A video was also shared of Saddam congratulating the Iraqi people and the Arab nation on the occasion of the holiday.
Saddam's former lawyer, Khalil al-Dulaimi, previously revealed that three Arab countries—Jordan, Egypt, and Qatar—offered Saddam asylum in exchange for asking resistance forces to cease fighting, but Saddam declined.
