The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip, which has affected all aspects of life for the residents through bombardment, destruction, killing, displacement, and the destruction of infrastructure and institutions, especially hospitals. According to the Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA), the ministry confirmed in a statement that this Israeli attack has plunged Palestinians in the Gaza Strip into an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe that has impacted even the minimum requirements for human life, including depriving them of their basic needs.
The ministry stated: The occupying authorities continue their actions and practices in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, completely kidnapping it by imposing a stifling military cordon, intensifying checkpoints, and closing access with iron gates, dirt barriers, and concrete blocks, which paralyze the movement of unarmed Palestinians.
It pointed to "the support that the occupying authorities provide to settlers to commit more provocative violations, depriving Palestinians of movement between cities and governorates to fulfill even their simplest humanitarian needs." The ministry called for "urgent international intervention to stop the occupation's assault on Gaza, ensure the delivery of essential humanitarian needs to citizens, halt the rapidly escalating consequences of this unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, and compel the occupation to cease all unilateral measures that undermine the issues of final status negotiations."
