"Pillars of Creation" Through the Lens of an Emirati Observatory

The Al Khateem Astronomical Observatory, part of the International Astronomy Center, successfully captured an image of the Eagle Nebula, known by the code (M16). It is located approximately 5,700 light-years from Earth and is part of the Serpens constellation. The center explained, "The image shows what is commonly referred to as the Pillars of Creation, which are a nebula (cosmic gas and dust) where new stars are formed, appearing as several giant columns." It added, "The imaging was conducted using a 36 cm telescope, with a total exposure time of six hours, utilizing hydrogen filters (green), oxygen filters (blue), and sulfur filters (red)."
