Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko announced on Telegram that two people were killed and 22 injured after two Russian missiles struck a crowded area in Kramatorsk, eastern Ukraine, on Tuesday. The Governor of Donetsk region had earlier stated that emergency services were dispatched to the site to assess the number of victims. The strikes occurred in the middle of the evening. Images shared on social media showed parts of some buildings reduced to rubble, with debris scattered on the ground. Kramatorsk is a key town located west of the front lines in the Donetsk region and is a potential primary target in any Russian advance to capture the entire area. Russian attacks have consistently targeted the town, including a strike on the local train station in April 2022 that resulted in 63 deaths. Russia denies targeting civilian sites, describing its actions as a "special military operation" since its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
