In Spain, Passenger Traffic Exceeds Pre-Pandemic Levels

Passenger traffic at airports operated by the Spanish company "Aena" has exceeded pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels for the seventh consecutive month in July, surpassing other European airports that have not yet reached 2019 levels. The company stated in a release: "The number of passengers at Spanish airports increased by ten percent year-on-year to 29.7 million." The airports operated by Aena handled 159.2 million passengers in the first seven months of the year, an increase of 21 percent compared to 2022, and 1.2 percent compared to 2019. According to the International Air Transport Association, travel levels this year have reached about 90 percent of pre-pandemic levels.
