Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib expressed his "concern over the lack of serious Western diplomatic pressure on Israel to stop the escalation" following his meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian. In this context, Bou Habib, during his meeting with Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, counted on "the Kingdom's pivotal role in restoring balance to the Middle East." The Saudi Foreign Ministry indicated that "the two ministers discussed the military escalation and the ongoing developments in Gaza and its surroundings, the international efforts being made to defuse tensions, and ways to protect unarmed civilians from the rising military operations in recent times." During the meeting, bin Farhan affirmed that "the Kingdom is making every possible effort to communicate with all international and regional parties to halt the ongoing escalation." Bou Habib also conducted a series of consultations and meetings with eight participating foreign ministers at the ministerial meeting: Palestine, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Pakistan, and Indonesia.
