Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed that the population issue in Egypt is one of the most serious challenges it faces, emphasizing the necessity of organizing the "absolute freedom" in birth rates. He indicated that the aim is to reach 400,000 newborns annually to reduce the population increase. These statements were made during his address at the First International Conference on Population, Health, and Development in the New Administrative Capital, following remarks by Egyptian Health Minister Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar regarding population growth. Sisi stated: "Allow me to talk about Egypt, which has a population of 105 million, including 9 million foreign guests, and you wonder how the resources of this country can cope with this situation."
