U.S. Stocks Open Lower

Major indices on Wall Street opened lower today, Friday, due to stronger-than-expected job growth in the United States and a drop in the unemployment rate, indicating strength in the labor market, which undermines hopes for a rate cut early next year. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 32.56 points or 0.09 percent to open at 36,084.82 points. The S&P 500 opened down 9.39 points or 0.20 percent at 4,576.20 points, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 60.54 points or 0.42 percent to 14,279.46 points.
