Bayern Munich, the champions of the German Bundesliga, announced the signing of defender Kim Min-Jae from Napoli until 2028. Bayern stated, "Bayern has signed defender Kim Min-Jae, coming from Napoli until June 30, 2028. He will wear number 3."
The defender, originally from South Korea, expressed on his new club's website, "Bayern is every player's dream. I look forward to everything that awaits me in Munich."
The 26-year-old defender, who joined Napoli in July last year from Turkish club Fenerbahçe, played a significant role in helping his team win the Serie A title last season for the first time in three decades.
The winner of the Serie A Best Defender award last season bid farewell to the fans of his team before announcing his move to Bayern. Kim Min-Jae said on Instagram: "I send this message to all Napoli fans who showed love and support. Thanks to you, winning the league title was possible after 33 years since Diego Maradona's achievement,” adding, “I would like to express my pride for Napoli, Mr. Luciano Spalletti, my teammates, and above all, Napoli fans. I will always remember and support Napoli regardless of where I am or where I go."
Kim Min-Jae played 35 matches with Napoli last season and scored two goals.
