Jumblatt: Where Has the Investigation into the Murder of Al-Hassruni Gone?

The leader of the Lebanese Forces party, Samir Geagea, stated that "during our repeated inquiries to the security agencies regarding the status of the investigation into the assassination of Lebanese Forces official Elias Al-Hassruni in the southern village of Ain Ebl, we received a single response: that the security apparatuses can no longer advance the investigation because they are being prevented from doing so." He affirmed in a statement that "this matter is unacceptable by all standards. We know that we live in a corrupt state controlled by Hezbollah, but for things to reach the point of obstructing the investigation into the assassination of a Lebanese citizen in broad daylight and in front of the eyes of all Lebanese is absolutely unacceptable." Geagea concluded by urging Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi, Justice Minister Henry Khoury, the Attorney General of Cassation Judge Ghassan Ouideat, and the relevant investigating judges to each take their responsibilities seriously and demand that the security agencies pursue the investigation to the end in the murder of Elias Al-Hassruni, removing all obstacles in their way to reveal the truth, execute justice, and uphold rights.
