Humanitarian aid began to flow into the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing on Friday, following the start of a temporary ceasefire lasting four days between Israel and Hamas. Trucks from Egypt entered the besieged Palestinian territory, which is experiencing a "humanitarian disaster" due to the ongoing war for nearly 50 days. Television footage showed aid trucks entering Gaza at a time when there is a severe need for lifesaving humanitarian assistance, with more than 1.7 million people displaced from the north of the strip to the south, according to United Nations estimates.
