The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces announced in a statement that after the members of the Derr Bader checkpoint suspected a white "Kia Rio" with tinted windows heading towards Beirut, driven by an individual identified as N. A. (born in 1993, Lebanese), they requested the driver to stop on the right. However, he fled. The officers then set up metal obstacles in front of the vehicle to stop it, which resulted in flat tires, but the driver continued to try to escape. The chase ensued, and the vehicle was found parked near a gas station before the Al-Mudayrij Bridge, with the driver managing to escape. The statement indicated that "upon searching the vehicle, a quantity of cans and plastic caps in various shapes, along with plastic bags containing drugs, were seized. The vehicle and the confiscated items were placed in the Derr Bader station for further investigation under the supervision of the relevant judiciary, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the driver."
