Former MP Walid Jumblatt announced after his meeting with Prime Minister Najib Mikati at his residence "Platinum Building" that Mikati is working hard in his own way, just as we are, to try to keep Lebanon away from war through his Arab and international communications. Jumblatt added that they are modestly working on the same matter, "but there is no doubt that the efforts of the President are tremendous, hoping that they will yield results and also repair the internal front, as some people on the internal front seem to be in another valley." He told reporters, "We had hoped, for example, that this circumstance would bring forth a president for the republic and elections for the committees without a boycott, but it seems that some people are in another world." Jumblatt affirmed that he will remain alongside President Mikati in all the efforts he is making, "hoping that we do not drag ourselves into war." The meeting was attended by the head of the Democratic Gathering bloc, MP Taymour Jumblatt, and MP Wael Abu Faour.
