WHO Expresses Concern Over Disease Spread in Gaza

The World Health Organization (WHO) expressed deep concern on Friday regarding the spread of diseases in the Gaza Strip, where ongoing Israeli shelling over the past weeks has forced residents into shelters with a severe lack of food and clean water. Richard Pieberkorn, the organization's representative in the Palestinian territories, stated, "We are very worried about the spread of diseases as the winter season approaches." He added that over 70,000 cases of acute respiratory infections and more than 44,000 cases of diarrhea have been reported in the densely populated area, noting that these figures are much higher than expected.
