Basil: What is happening are consensual decrees and the opening of budgets for cannabis cultivation

The President of the "Free Patriotic Movement," MP Gebran Bassil, criticized the "urgent" items included in the cabinet meeting session in a tweet on "Twitter." Bassil remarked: "What we have warned against for several months is happening: the caretaker Prime Minister, lacking legitimacy, constitutional rights, and a mandate, is calling, on behalf of force majeure and the state's higher interest, for a cabinet meeting to discuss necessary, urgent, and emergency topics from 72 items, including consensual decree contracts, the opening of regular budgets, and appointing a board of directors for the regulatory body for cannabis cultivation."

He added, "This is an extraordinary provocation and a violation of legality, partnership, and the constitution. The worst part is that this is happening with the silence of political and spiritual authorities that claim to care about the presidency and call for the quick election of a president." He pointed out that "those who are truly eager for the election of a president do not remain silent about such sessions, which those calling for them intentionally continue to carry out a policy of sidelining the presidency until they can fill it with whoever they want or impose. The matter is for all constitutional ministers in the government and for those who refuse to legislate out of necessity due to the illegitimacy of legislation from a parliamentary council in the absence of the president. Is it permissible to hold such sessions, make such decisions, and issue such decrees in the president's absence?"
