North Korea Launches Ballistic Missile Toward Sea

The office of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida reported that North Korea launched what is suspected to be a ballistic missile late Tuesday evening. The South Korean news agency Yonhap stated that the missile fell into the sea.

According to the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff, the missile was launched toward the sea between the Korean Peninsula and Japan. No further details were provided.

The missile launch comes approximately a week after North Korea tested its latest intercontinental ballistic missile, which it claimed was a warning to the United States and other adversaries.
