Bouhabib: Stability in the Region Begins with Implementing the Two-State Solution

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants reported that Foreign Minister Abdallah Bouhabib received a phone call from Dutch Foreign Minister Hanke Bruins Slot. During their conversation, they discussed the latest developments in southern Lebanon and the verbal and military escalation from Israel. Minister Bouhabib emphasized the need to "pressure Israel to stop its provocations and threats made by government and military officials to destroy Lebanon and return it to the Stone Age, which could inflame the conflict and increase the risks of it turning into a regional confrontation that threatens peace and security in southern Lebanon and the entire region, contrary to statements from Lebanese officials emphasizing Lebanon’s lack of desire for or pursuit of war." He also expressed to his Dutch counterpart his serious concern about the recent escalation in Gaza and the necessity to halt the war, as well as for Israel to respect international humanitarian law. Both ministers agreed that peace and stability in the entire region begin with the implementation of the two-state solution, establishing a Palestinian state that grants the Palestinian people sovereignty and preserves their dignity.
