Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated, "We are going through a period of serious security threats and escalating economic crises with the world, but in Turkey, we are taking the necessary measures to confront them." In a press conference, Erdogan added, "We literally apply the phrase we always say, that we will come one night unannounced to strike terrorist organizations, especially in northern Syria and northern Iraq."
The Turkish president continued, "The economic crisis and security challenges have significantly increased recently worldwide, including in Turkey. We have always faced the policies of double standards that deal with Turkey and various files in the region." Erdogan further mentioned, "We will strengthen our cooperation with the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Qatar, Oman, and other countries in the gas and energy sector." He added, "In two days, I will participate in important meetings in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, and on Friday, we will hold a meeting of the Turkish-Qatari Supreme Strategic Council, chaired by myself and the Emir of Qatar." He concluded, "We discussed the future of the European continent in a meeting in Prague a few days ago. All attendees at the conference expressed their appreciation for Turkey's efforts in trying to create balance and mediation between Russia and Ukraine amidst all the challenges and difficulties."
