The Minister of Public Works in the caretaker government, Ali Hamiyeh, stated that "Middle East Airlines is a national company that we take pride in, but the ministry does not have legal authority to intervene in its affairs, and the airport continues to operate." In an interview with Al-Jadeed channel, he noted that "if things continue as they are, the government must cover the continuation of Middle East Airlines' flights in Lebanon," explaining that "there are measures in a proactive plan in case the airport and public facilities are subjected to Israeli aggression." Hamiyeh added, "All ideals in the world have fallen before what happened in Gaza, and for us, a free homeland with the right to decide, or death without that."
