Member of the "Development and Liberation" bloc, MP Qassem Hashem, stated that "the shiny promises made by the Minister of Energy day after day regarding increased electricity supply are nothing but illusions and delusions. This is revealed every time an electricity supply reaches him, only to realize that it requires fuel. As if the Lebanese are unaware of the reality of the electricity outage, and that a portion of the Iraqi fuel has not yet arrived, which will take a month or two, while the Iranian aid is still waiting for his ministry's decision to move. With all of this, he presents us with theories that require a dynamic movement that we have not seen; hence, darkness prevails and the electricity is absent."
He asked, "How long will the policy of denial and procrastination remain a reality that the citizen pays for?" He added, "In the face of ongoing darkness, we must expedite decisions to alleviate the injustice and gloom faced by the Lebanese. Enough with the theories, speeches, and appearances; what the Lebanese are waiting for is some light instead of the fire from haphazard policies."
He concluded, "Since it is important to mention, and given the double standards and lack of justice in distributing electricity, despite its scarcity, we warn those in charge of the electricity sector against continuing the injustice faced by the Hasbaya and Arqoub areas, and we highlight the need for fairness in distribution across the Lebanese regions."
