Meta Platforms Inc. launched the WhatsApp channel feature today, aimed at making the app a "private broadcast messaging product." The company stated that it will provide this feature to users in more countries over the coming months.
Users will be able to follow content related to their hobbies, sports teams, the latest updates from local officials, and more. Profile pictures and contact information of the person managing the channel will not be available to followers. Similarly, the phone numbers of followers will not be disclosed.
