Qatar: Humanitarian Ceasefire in Gaza for 4 Days, Extendable

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today, Wednesday, that the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement (Hamas) and Israel have agreed to a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza for a duration of four days, which can be extended. The start date for the ceasefire will be announced within the next twenty-four hours. The statement added that the ceasefire, mediated by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States, includes the release of 50 women and children currently detained in the Gaza Strip in exchange for the release of a number of Palestinian women and children held in Israeli prisons. It was further stated that the number of those released would increase in subsequent phases of the agreement.
