Iran on Official Holiday Due to "Unprecedented Heat"

Iranian state media reported the country's announcement of an official holiday tomorrow, Wednesday, and the day after, Thursday, due to "unprecedented heat." Authorities have urged elderly people and those with health issues to stay at home. Government spokesman Ali Bahadori Jahromi stated, "Wednesday and Thursday will be holidays," while the Health Ministry noted that hospitals will be on high alert. Due to the extraordinary heat in recent days, the cabinet agreed to the Health Ministry's proposal to close the country on Wednesday and Thursday to ensure the safety of citizens. Temperatures in Tehran are expected to reach 39 degrees Celsius tomorrow, Wednesday.
