Bou Habib: Israeli Provocations May Escalate into Full-Scale Conflicts

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in the caretaker government, Abdullah Bou Habib, emphasized during his meeting with 27 ambassadors from the Political and Security Committee of the European Union in Brussels that "Lebanon is striving hard to avoid war." He called for "working together to face common challenges and solve problems," hoping that "the EU countries would play a constructive political role in the ongoing conflict in the region." He stated, "The events in Gaza did not happen in a vacuum but are caused by Israel's refusal to implement UN resolutions issued decades ago, especially resolutions 194, 242, and 338." While noting that "Lebanon is trying hard to avoid war," he added, "The threats and Israeli provocations through targeting civilians and journalists fuel the state of instability that could escalate into full-scale conflicts."
