The Acting Director General of Internal Security, Elias Al-Baysari, indicated that "the General Security Directorate is keen on maintaining the best relations with its Arab brothers, especially Saudi Arabia, which sponsored civil peace through the Taif Agreement. We strive for the best relations with Kuwait, which was at the forefront of achieving Gulf-Lebanese reconciliation, and with all Gulf Arab countries."

In an interview with the "Okaz" newspaper, Al-Baysari stated: "The General Security implements the applicable Lebanese laws in accordance with the constitution. It is careful, when any Gulf Arab nationals face any issues, to communicate with the relevant embassy in Beirut and work with its diplomatic team to solve these problems in a spirit of brotherhood, love, and understanding under the framework of the law."

He pointed out that "what happened with the Kuwaiti journalist Fajr Al-Saeed was a legal action and falls within the powers of the Lebanese General Security, which we clarified to the Kuwaiti diplomatic delegation when they arrived at Beirut International Airport. The delegation stayed with Ms. Al-Saeed at the airport until the time of her flight back to Kuwait." He emphasized that "she was treated with kindness and respect, and no one wronged her either verbally or in action."

Al-Baysari noted that "there are those who tried to politicize the matter for their own objectives, but this case is legal. We face dozens of similar cases daily, and those political figures in Lebanon who object should amend the law instead of attacking those who enforce it." He also spoke about a meeting held at the Ministry of Interior, attended by Minister of Interior Bassam Mawlawi and the Charge d'Affaires of Kuwait, stating: "We explained to him the details of the case and the legal requirements we followed, affirming that Lebanon is committed to enforcing the law, its sovereignty, and the powers of General Security just as occurs in all countries around the world."
