Bread Crisis: The World Bank Loan for Flour Ships Will Not Be Delivered to Lebanon

Informed sources have revealed that a flour crisis looms on the horizon, noting that "this issue became apparent through the inclusion of a item on the agenda for today's Cabinet meeting to allocate 8 million dollars and withdraw it from the SDR for flour." They pointed out that the quantity available in the market is sufficient for approximately a week to ten days at most. The sources further informed MTV that "the World Bank loan allocated for flour ships will not be delivered to Lebanon before late February, according to some importers. Therefore, during the period between the aforementioned ten days and the end of February, we will be facing a flour crisis, and consequently, a bread crisis." They added that after the Cabinet's approval, the procedures will take time for the Minister of Finance's approval, after which the Central Bank will open the necessary credits. As a result, citizens will pay the price during this period. These lines may cause queues in front of bakeries, but they could also be useful to avoid what is expected regarding this crisis. So, is there anyone who will take action before the disaster occurs?
