The state-owned Chinese company "Sinopec" announced today, Saturday, that it has "signed a new 27-year agreement with Qatar Energy for the supply and purchase of liquefied natural gas (LNG)." Sinopec stated, "Under the agreement, the two companies will collaborate on the second phase of the North Field gas project, which will supply three million tons of LNG annually to Sinopec." It added, "It will acquire a five percent stake in the second phase of the joint venture."
