The ministry stated in a press release that "protection systems and procedures were activated, and the level of the hacking attempt is being assessed." It added, "The payroll transfer procedures will not be affected by the hacking." A press statement read: "The Ministry of Finance announces that one of its systems had a hacking attempt via a virus early today, and protection systems and procedures were activated, disconnecting the systems. The level of the hacking attempt is currently being evaluated. The ministry also confirms that payroll transfer procedures will not be affected by this hacking, as the government's financial systems are separated."
