Turkey Arrests Founder of

A Turkish court has ordered the arrest of Fatih Ozer, the founder of the cryptocurrency platform "Thodex," who was extradited from Albania on charges of embezzling funds from cryptocurrency traders. On the other hand, Ozer, who made a statement at the branch of the Cyber Crimes Directorate, said, "I am not a fraudster, I have not defrauded anyone. I am exercising my right to remain silent. I will present my statement in court."

Earlier, in March, a Turkish court sentenced Ozer to 40,562 years in prison for fraud. In late August, the Turkish Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of the wanted Ozer while he was in Albania and began the process of returning him to Turkey.

The Turkish Public Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation in April 2021 following reports that Thodex clients could not access their accounts on the platform, amid news that the company's founder had fled the country. Investigations later revealed that Ozer had left the country in 2021, leading Interpol to issue a red notice for his pursuit.

Hundreds of thousands of Turks were subjected to "the largest fraud in the history of the republic," as described by Turkish media, after reports of the digital platform founder fleeing the country with $2 billion, according to "Turkey Now."
