EU Official: No Return for Syrian Refugees and Lebanon Must Assist Them

The official spokesperson for the European Union in the Middle East and North Africa, Luis Miguel Bueno, stated in a press interview that "there is no return for Syrian refugees at the moment and Lebanon must assist them." He emphasizes the significant responsibility that falls on Europeans to help the refugees and support host countries. He reiterated EU's commitment to respecting human rights and noted that, given the unsafe conditions in Syria for return, they prefer that refugees remain in Lebanon to preserve their dignity until stable conditions are available.
