The Chief Scientist at Microsoft's research and development center in Israel, Tomer Simon, expressed his concern about the future of the high-tech sector in Israel due to the war against the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement (Hamas). Simon warned that "multinational companies may halt research and development activities in Israel." He stated, "The country must create a positive outlook so that multinational companies can continue to grow," noting that for every technology job, there are five additional jobs created which support the Israeli economy.
