Renewed Fighting in Khartoum Bahri and Foreign Ministry Announces Conditions for Resuming Negotiations

The Sudanese army intensified its attacks on Rapid Support Forces (RSF) positions in Khartoum, using its heavy artillery from its headquarters towards their deployment points in the neighborhoods of Buri, Al-Shati, and Al-Safa in eastern the capital. In southern Khartoum, both sides exchanged heavy gunfire in the Al-Sahafa area, marking a new escalation in the fighting near the areas and neighborhoods adjacent to the army's armor forces. Eyewitnesses reported that "the RSF targeted the neighborhoods of Darushab and Kadr in the northeastern area of the Halfa Bridge north of Khartoum Bahri with mortar shelling, as thick smoke columns rose from Khartoum Bahri near the industrial area and the Kober neighborhood." Politically, the Sudanese Foreign Ministry stated in official remarks to the Sudan News Agency that "the exit of the RSF from civilian homes is a prerequisite for resuming negotiations."
