In Greece, One Person Killed Due to Heavy Rains

The fire department in Greece reported today, Tuesday, that "heavy rain has flooded homes and roads, and a man died after a wall collapsed due to severe weather conditions." In a statement to Reuters, a fire department official said, "The man died after a wall collapsed near the city of Volos, likely due to the bad weather." The Athens News Agency reported that "the wall collapsed while the man, a livestock breeder, was trying to reach his herd." Storm Daniel has been sweeping through western and central Greece since Monday, triggering hundreds of emergency calls for water removal, following days of containment of wildfires that had been raging in the northern part of the country for more than two weeks.
