The Gaza Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday night that many displaced individuals sheltering in the historic "Bofilius" Church in Gaza were killed, and several others were injured in an Israeli airstrike. The ministry stated in a statement that the attack resulted in "large numbers of martyrs and wounded" within the grounds of the Orthodox Church of Gaza City. Witnesses reported that the strike appeared to hit a target near the church, where many residents of Gaza sought refuge amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
Moments ago, occupying forces bombed a building used for shelter near the Orthodox Church in Gaza, leading to the collapse of the church, which was also housing a number of Christians and Muslims.
The church is located near the Baptist Hospital, which was shelled by Israeli forces on Tuesday, resulting in 500 martyrs and hundreds of injured, including women and children, along with other victims of Israeli aggression and patients. The Ministry of Interior clarified that one of the buildings belonging to the Orthodox Church collapsed in the center of Gaza City due to Israeli airstrikes, confirming that among the injured were seriously wounded Christian displaced individuals who sought refuge in the church.
