In the early hours of today, a new batch of individuals evacuated from Sudan arrived at Rafic Hariri International Airport. This group consists of 20 Lebanese and 12 Palestinians holding Lebanese documents. They were greeted by the Secretary-General of the High Relief Commission, General Mohammed Khair, who welcomed their safe arrival to Lebanon.
Khair stated that "the cooperation and coordination between official administrations positively reflect on citizens," and he expressed appreciation for the "Lebanese communities around the world that support Lebanon and alleviate the economic and living crises faced by the Lebanese people," wishing for "the return of better days to Lebanon."
He thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its King Salman, along with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, praising the role of the Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates, as well as all Arab countries. He also highlighted the efforts of the official administrations, guided by Prime Minister Najib Mikati, who is overseeing the evacuation process. Khair clarified that with the arrival of this third batch, comprising 18 citizens from Sudan to Port Sudan, then to Jeddah, and finally to Lebanon, the evacuation of Lebanese from Sudan has been completed.
