Raef Rida, head of the "Social Medical Gathering" and representative of the International Mediterranean Medical Association in Lebanon, warned of the "resurgence of cholera in Lebanon," attributing the reason to "cases in northeastern Syria in Aleppo and Idlib, especially since displaced people travel back and forth, and transferring from an infected hotspot is one of the main reasons for transmitting the infection." Rida stated, "The vaccine dose previously given to the infected provides protection for a short period, and two doses were not provided for longer protection against the epidemic," questioning, "Are the health conditions in the areas where our Syrian brothers are in the camps satisfactory?"
