Russian President Vladimir Putin announced today, during his virtual participation in the BRICS summit, that the group is on its way to meeting the aspirations of most people in the world. He added, "We are cooperating based on principles of equality, supporting partnerships, and respecting each other's interests, which is the essence of our group's strategic path— a path directed towards the future that meets the aspirations of the larger portion of the global community, the so-called global majority."
He stated, "There are fluctuations in financial, energy, and other markets, but it is necessary to abandon the dollar as a global currency, a process that is irreversible in favor of the BRICS bank." He continued, "Russia remains a reliable food supplier for Africa and will continue to be so," pointing out that "sanctions hinder Russian food supplies and its banking payments." He revealed Russia's readiness to return to the grain deal if genuine commitments are met towards the Russian side.
