At least 4 people have died and 3 others were injured in a house explosion in the Bloom area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the eastern United States. Authorities reported that the explosion destroyed 3 buildings and damaged at least 12 others, while one person remains missing.
Details indicate that emergency services received a call shortly before 10:30 a.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, reporting fires in several homes due to the explosion. Officers and firefighters arrived to find "people trapped under the rubble."
Allegany County officials later confirmed the death of 4 individuals and reported that 3 others were taken to the hospital, two of whom are in stable condition and one in critical condition. County officials noted that the eighth person is still "unaccounted for."
American media pointed out that while fighting the fire, the health status of more than 20 firefighters was assessed, as they suffered from heat exhaustion.
