Saudi King Invites Iraqi President to Attend Arab League Summit on Gaza

Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid received an invitation today, Tuesday, from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to participate in the extraordinary session of the Arab League Council at the level of leaders. The Iraqi presidency stated in a statement that Rashid received the invitation to discuss the aggression against the Gaza Strip and developments in the occupied Palestinian territories during his meeting today in Baghdad with the Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Iraq, Saeed Al-Qahtani. The Iraqi president expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the kind invitation, highlighting the importance of cooperation, coordination, and joint work on issues of mutual interest. He also praised the relations between the two countries and their brotherly peoples. For his part, Al-Qahtani affirmed his country's commitment to establishing constructive relations with Iraq and expanding horizons of cooperation to serve common interests.
