Beware of Fake Travel Tickets

The Syndicate of Travel and Tourism Offices in Lebanon revealed in a statement that some gangs are promoting fake travel tickets in the local market and at various travel and tourism offices operating in Lebanon, with significant discounts compared to the prices set by airlines. It pointed out that many travelers have fallen victim to these gangs, as their bookings were canceled before travel, preventing them from boarding, since it turned out that the price of these tickets was paid using stolen and/or forged cards.

The syndicate warned against the financial temptations presented by the prices and discounts offered by these gangs, which are certainly inaccurate and unrealistic. It urged esteemed travelers to rely on licensed and syndicate offices to ensure the validity of the service and proper treatment.

The syndicate considered that "these violations pose serious risks to the performance of the air transport sector and to the reputation of the tourism industry as a whole, at a time when these sectors are witnessing professional cooperation and official support from the Ministry of Tourism to provide all means of encouragement and protection, as occurred in the past summer season. This should now continue through the pursuit and accountability of those violating the interests of both agencies and travelers."

The syndicate called for adopting a similar approach to protect travel agencies from unlicensed practitioners and to prevent their violations and abuses, while advising travelers to avoid falling into their traps.
