Catastrophic Hunger Levels in Gaza

A report published today, Thursday, by a UN-backed body stated that all residents of Gaza, totaling 2.3 million, are facing catastrophic hunger levels and an increasing risk of famine every day. The report issued by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) noted that the percentage of households affected by rising levels of acute food insecurity in Gaza is the highest ever recorded globally. The humanitarian situation in Gaza has rapidly deteriorated since Israel launched a massive military operation on October 7, with intense bombings destroying large areas of the coastal enclave in the following weeks.
