Syrian Foreign Ministry Accuses US Delegation of "Illegal" Entry into the Country

The Syrian state news agency "SANA" reported today, Friday, that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stated that "the recent illegal entry of a US delegation led by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Ethan Goldrich into northeastern Syria, and its meetings with separatist groups, represents a blatant violation of Syria's sovereignty and the unity and integrity of its territory." The ministry pointed out that "the claim that this visit and the meetings held aim to address the grievances of the residents of Deir ez-Zor is a blatant lie that adds to the hypocrisy promoted by the US administration, which steals the wealth and resources of the Syrian people and imposes unilateral coercive measures that contribute to the killing of Syrians." It added: "This blatant interference in the internal affairs of Syria by the United States and its unlimited support for terrorist groups and separatist militias once again shows the destructive role of the United States in Syria, which aims to prolong the crisis and increase the suffering of its people."
