Member of the Development and Liberation Bloc, MP Fadi Alama, indicated that nothing new has changed and that all matters remain stagnant. Therefore, there are no indicators pointing to anything positive at this moment, as everyone took a "break" for the holidays, and political life is gradually returning.
Alama acknowledged, in an interview with the "Anbaa" electronic newspaper, the existence of political movement aimed at resolving the crisis during the holiday break and sending positive signals, although these have not yet translated into tangible outcomes that contribute to a solution. What applies to the presidential file can also apply to holding a cabinet session, as information regarding this matter is very scarce, and President Mikati has not revealed whether he intends to convene a cabinet meeting, possibly to avoid igniting a new crisis.
Regarding the ongoing debate about electricity, Alama stated: "People want to have electricity," and they do not care about the ongoing disputes. He added: "The electricity issue is complex and has burdened the country significantly, but today circumstances have changed, as the tariffs have added extra burdens on people, and it is possible that an emergency situation could arise that might facilitate holding a cabinet meeting."
