France Imposes Sanctions on Yahya Sinwar

A decree published in the official journal states that France froze assets belonging to Yahya Sinwar, the head of Hamas's political bureau in the Gaza Strip, on Tuesday. Diplomats have indicated that Paris is working with partners to impose sanctions on individuals within "Hamas" and its financial network at the EU level. Sinwar is the latest Hamas leader to be added to France's sanctions list. France previously imposed national-level sanctions on Hamas leader Mohammed Deif and his deputy Marwan Issa on November 13.
