He ascended to martyrdom on the altar of the nation, his name etched in the hearts of the Lebanese as a symbol of faith in Lebanon's message of sovereignty and freedom.
President Bashir Gemayel's stance and struggle encapsulated a steadfast belief in a unified Lebanon, encompassing both land and people. His enduring slogan, 'Lebanon 10452 km²,' embodies this inclusive national philosophy that stands firm that Lebanon, in its entirety, is an indivisible nation for all its citizens, rejecting division, partition, or abolition.
As we remember his martyrdom today, we affirm that his message remains vital to our national journey, and embracing the unity of land, people, and institutions is the greatest tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Lebanon. In commemorating this anniversary, we renew our commitment to continue building a strong and just state, the sole guarantor of its independent decision-making, full sovereignty over its territory, and the dignity of its people, honoring the sacrifices of the martyred president and his comrades.
