The Electricity of Lebanon (EDL) announced in a statement that following the direct Israeli attacks on the main power transfer station in Sultaniti (Bint Jbeil district) on March 19, 2026, which caused significant damage and led to its shutdown, maintenance teams from EDL's Transmission Directorate have performed temporary repairs to bring part of the station back online.
Furthermore, the regional Distribution Directorate, with the help of EDL personnel and service provider teams, managed to repair parts of the distribution network where conditions allowed, given the prevailing security situation.
As a result, EDL will restore power to most of the outlets serviced by the Sultaniti transfer station starting the afternoon of Saturday, December 9, 2026.
It is noted that this station supplies electricity to the city of Bint Jbeil, its surrounding villages, as well as the villages of the Joya area and some villages in the Tyre district.
