Syrian actor Mohamed Qannouh passed away on Saturday evening at the age of 49 due to a heart attack. He was from the famous Qannouh artistic family in Damascus, which worked for years in the comedy theater "Dababes" under the name "The Qannouh Brothers." He was the son of the late artist and radio director Marwan Qannouh. His artistic career began with Syrian actor Yasir Al-Azam in 1995, and since that time, he participated in the successive parts of the famous comedy series "Maraya" and also worked in commercial advertising for a while.
The Syrian Artists Syndicate mourned the late artist on its Facebook page, stating: "The Artists Syndicate of the Syrian Arab Republic mourns the passing of our colleague, the star Mohamed Qannouh. May the soul of our deceased rest in peace, and may we, his family, and loved ones find patience and solace in this great loss."
It is noteworthy that Qannouh posted on his page yesterday to commemorate the anniversary of his father's death, saying: "Oh crescent moon that has vanished from my eyes, leaving a fire in my heart to rest. May God have mercy on you and grant you paradise." Just days ago, he mourned the character "Shouman" that he portrayed in the series "Al-Arbaji" on his personal account, sharing a personal photo and commenting: "Goodbye, Shouman."
