Italian Tonali Suspended for 10 Months for Violating Betting Regulations

The President of the Italian Football Federation, Gabriele Gravina, announced today, Thursday, the suspension of Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali for 10 months for breaching betting laws in Italy. The Italian international Tonali plays for Newcastle United in England, having joined from AC Milan earlier this year. Tonali will also undergo treatment courses related to addiction and will be required to share his experiences through lectures in the upcoming period. Due to the penalty, Tonali will be absent from the pitch until the end of the current season and will not participate in the 2024 European Championship in Germany next year for the same reason.
