Death of Italian Cyclist in Bike Race

Italian cyclist Jacopo Venzo, aged 17, has died as a result of an accident during a bike race in Austria. His team, "Campana Imbalaggi Gio & Tex," announced Venzo's death in a statement during the first stage of the "Unior Rundfahrt" race yesterday, Friday. The team said: "With tears flooding our eyes and broken hearts, we announce the death of rising cyclist Jacopo Venzo. He was the victim of a horrific fall yesterday from a slope during the first stage of the Upper Austria race." They added: "Jacopo was an exceptional young man with a bright future both in sports and personally, which makes our pain even greater. We ask for respect for the family's privacy and thank everyone for their support."
